POWER HORSE Triathlon Team | A story of success

In March 2013 the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team was featured on Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The victory at Ironman Los Cabos (MEX) by Timo Bracht in the same month was the first step into a fabulous triathlon year for all athletes and partners of the team. Right now the team already have 17 podium finishes in competitions all over the world - a balance that should be further improved in 2014.

The high standards of POWER HORSE Triathlon Team for itself, but also to sponsors and partners certainly are one of the reasons why Timo Bracht, Jan Raphael, Horst Reichel and Georg Potrebitsch became one of the most successful and respected triathlon teams in the world within seven months. In addition, an immense dynamics within the team, many common training sessions and professional exchange among athletes – these are all issues that have helped Timo Bracht to win the Ironman Los Cabos in Mexico on his first start in the new outfit right away. About four months later he won the German championships on long distance triathlon at the Challenge Roth. After a defect on the bike course and great loss of time Bracht came back into the race - and right into the hearts of fans. "2013 was a good year. A year of change and reorientation”, Timo Bracht looks back at the first year and says with pride: "The entire Power Horse Triathlon Team has set standards." His team-mate Jan Raphael celebrated the biggest success of his carreer at Ironman Germany in Frankfurt where he became second at the European Championships. Two dreams came true Horst Reichel: first, he secured the Ironman 70.3 Italy victory. Later he made the qualification for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii and celebrated its premiere there in October. With the second places at the long distances of the global Challenge series in Taiwan and Amsterdam Georg Potrbetisch can look back on the most successful season of his triathlon career, too.

The grand finale and the long-awaited highlight was Ironman Hawaii back in October: three of four athletes (Timo Bracht, Jan Raphael and Horst Reichel) made it to the start line for a showdown of the world's best triathletes. With ninth place Timo Bracht pushed back into the top 10 in the world again.

Thanks to the partners
However, one thing know both the athletes as well as the back office of the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team: "Without the outstanding support of our main sponsor, the Power Horse Energy Drink GmbH, and all other team partners all the achievements and world class results would not have been possible", thanks team manager Karsten Streng, adding: "Now we have realized our dream of a triathlon team at world-class level. Now we want to show that our success story continues in the future."
