Timo Bracht

The nine-times Ironman Champion and three-times European champion in long distance triathlon is one of the most successful triathletes of the world - especially considering his top results in the Ironman Hawaii World Championships, for example the brilliant fifth place in 2011. In the mean time, Timo is already over ten years busy in the professional triathlon scene. That makes him the most experienced athlete on the TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD – something his fellow team mates can only benefit from. His quest for perfection, his strategic thinking as well as his inner strength and mental balance are what make Timo, the father to two children, a highly professional athlete. His absolute strength is the marathon at the end of the race. If it didn’t already happen before, by then he will bring the competing athletes to their knees. But Timo’s mind goes far beyond the finish line: He always has a good story to tell from his huge athletic knowledge and interest in foreign places.

MTB: Singeltrails at Katzenbuckel (Odenwald's highest mountain)
Run: Bicycle track along Neckar-river, Germany
Ski: Engadin, St. Moritz, Suisse
Open water: Maui, Hawaii
 

What is your special need - besides your equipment - for race day?
High spirits, multiple guidebooks, sandwiches and something to read.
 

The most beautiful (1.) and the most distressing (2.) experience in your career:
1. First place at Ironman Gerardmer, France 2003
2. I have forgotten my seat post (including my saddle) at Powerman Holland. Happily I could buy an old-fashioned saddle in a bike shop. But after all I have had the third fastest bikesplit.
 

How would you describe yourself in one phrase?
